The introduction of alternating current (AC) in India is primarily credited to **Nikola Tesla** and **George Westinghouse**. However, the person who played a significant role in bringing AC technology to India was **Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose**, a renowned Indian scientist.
In 1897, he demonstrated the use of wireless communication and AC in his experiments. But it was **Bose's efforts** along with **the collaboration of Western scientists** that helped bring AC systems to India. In fact, in 1899, India's first AC power station was set up in **Shivajinagar, Pune**, marking a significant step toward the spread of AC in the country.
Though Tesla and Westinghouse had already developed and demonstrated the AC power system in the West, **Bose** contributed by introducing and applying it within India, making it a part of the country's energy infrastructure.
