Transformers **only work with AC (Alternating Current)**, not DC (Direct Current).
### Why?
A transformer operates based on **electromagnetic induction**, which requires a **changing magnetic field** to induce voltage in the secondary coil. AC continuously changes direction, creating a fluctuating magnetic field, which allows the transformer to transfer energy efficiently.
In contrast, **DC provides a constant voltage**, meaning there is no changing magnetic field after the initial connection. Without a changing magnetic field, no voltage is induced in the secondary coil, and the transformer will not function properly.
So, transformers are designed to work **only with AC power.**
