A car battery is a
secondary battery, also known as a
rechargeable battery. This means that it can be charged and discharged multiple times. The most common type of car battery is a lead-acid battery, which gets recharged by the car's alternator while the engine is running.
So, unlike a
primary battery (like a regular disposable AA or AAA battery), which can only be used once, a secondary car battery can be recharged and used again and again.
