To connect a voltmeter, it should be connected
in parallel with the component or part of the circuit across which you want to measure the voltage. Here’s how to do it:
- Identify the two points across which you want to measure the voltage (for example, across a resistor, a battery, or a part of the circuit).
- Connect the positive (red) lead of the voltmeter to the positive side of the component or circuit.
- Connect the negative (black) lead of the voltmeter to the negative side or ground.
The voltmeter should not affect the circuit, so make sure it is connected in parallel and not in series with the component.
