In India, the 12th degree is referred to as
"Higher Secondary" or
"Senior Secondary" education. This is typically the last stage of school before entering college or university. It includes two years, commonly referred to as
Class 11 and
Class 12. Students usually choose a stream like Science, Commerce, or Arts in these two years, depending on their interests and career goals. After completing Class 12, students receive a certificate called the
"Higher Secondary Certificate" (HSC) or
"Secondary School Certificate" (SSC), depending on the board they study under.
