A fuse is a
passive component.
The reason for this is that a fuse doesnβt require an external power source to operate. It simply reacts to the current passing through it. If the current exceeds the fuse's rated limit, the fuse "blows" or melts, breaking the circuit to protect the rest of the system from damage. It doesn't actively control or generate power; it just responds to excess current, so it is considered passive.
