AC/DC has worked with several producers throughout their career, but the most iconic and long-time producer for the band was
Mutt Lange. He produced some of their most successful albums, including
Highway to Hell (1979), which was a turning point for the band and helped solidify their international fame.
Before Lange, AC/DC worked with
George Young (the older brother of the bandβs guitarist Angus and Malcolm Young) on their earlier albums, including
T.N.T. (1975) and
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (1976).
Lange's work with the band brought a more polished sound, which played a big part in their commercial success, especially with albums like
Back in Black (1980), which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time.
