A fully charged lead-acid battery typically has a voltage of
12.6 to 12.8 volts. This is for a 12-volt battery, which is the most common type used in vehicles and other applications.
However, when the battery is being charged, the voltage can go higher, reaching around
14.4 to 14.7 volts. But once the charging process is complete, the voltage drops back down to the 12.6–12.8-volt range for a full charge.
If the voltage is much lower than 12.6 volts, it may indicate the battery is undercharged or has lost some capacity.
